New 'Life Skills for Life' Training Classes

The new Life Skills for Life classes are here!
After asking you what you wanted I have designed a different way to attend a training course doing the things YOU want to focus on!
PLEASE EMAIL ME ANY QUESTIONS BECAUSE THERE IS BOUND TO BE INFO I HAVE ACCIDENTALLY NOT INCLUDED
(shellsaukett@gmail.com).

I believe that setting dogs up to succeed is a fairer and a substantially premium method of getting our dogs to learn desired behaviours and if the reinforcement is delivered just right, then the chances of your dog repeating the desired behaviour is high.

Training both dog and owner how to improve on life skills and what they think they already know!  This class is for all dogs over 6 months of age, whether they be new to training or a puppy school graduate.
This class is best suited for people who understand that training the skills OUTSIDE of the class will get you the best results.  If you are looking for a training scenario where you practice the same obedience training skills over and over every week until they get better then attending a local dog training club might be what you are looking for.

The basic IN's and OUT'S of whats going on:
Each practical class is now approximately 60-80mins in length.
Classes are running on Saturday mornings at the Marrickville Public School.
There is a compulsory ONLINE component that you MUST do first before attending the practical classes.  The practical lessons are run over a period of 5 weeks.
Classes are small in numbers to get the best results in the small time frame.

Each practical class is now based around a 'topic' or a 'concept'.  They are:
  • Foundation skills every owner needs their dogs to do readily and easily
  • Introduction to loose lead walking and how to get it
  • Foundations behind the recall
  • Enjoy the moments with your dog when walking the streets
  • Foundations to getting good manners at home

To complete the Life Skills for Life training course you are required to complete the compulsory online theory lesson AND attend at least 4 of the 5 practical training classes.

Please excuse the hilariousness of the video's of Jeddah and I in the Online Lesson! These were done a little while and lets just say they may need to be 'refreshed'! :)

To enrol you are required to make a $50.00 deposit after emailing me indicating you are ready to get the private link for the course to begin - this gives you access to the online lesson.  Once completed and if you would like to continue to the practical classes the remaining fee of $275 is required to participate.

***PLEASE NOTE:  Classes are not designed for anxious, fearful, troublesome behaviours or reactive dogs - a private consultation is recommended to help you and your dog achieve desirable results in these situations. Please discuss this with me if you are unsure if your dog falls into this category. ***

Now - here is the Nitty Gritty of what's going on:
***ONLINE CLASS MUST BE DONE BEFORE PRACTICAL LESSONS BEGIN - LAST ENROLMENT DATE IS THE 10TH OF MAY***

  • Understanding different techniques to get a behaviour that you can see, mark and reinforce
  • Nose target on cue = 'Touch!' (visual and/or verbal)
