I went to a new park... and it was big... it was so big we walked and walked and walked.
(I'm still not allowed to go running... not fair!)
In this new and exciting park I saw the biggest bird-type creatures I have EVER seen! I wanted one to play with but they made funny faces and hissed at me. They were so big I doubt I would even be able to roll on one like the small still ones I sometimes find. It would be like rolling up and over a BIG feathery hissy hill... I could totally roll that way!
Then things just got bigger and bigger... These huge deliciously smelling
creatures with humans on their backs... What in the Dog is going on there? I've seen some big dogs at my park but this was completely different. I
couldn't quite figure it out but I could stare at them all day long... clip clop
clip clop... The best thing about them? They made warm fresh delicious tasty treats that fell from the sky... I got to taste just a little bit before my
family started flapping around like the big bird-type creatures near the
water. They have no idea what they are missing...
Maybe next time I'll get to roll up and down the big bird creatures and maybe next time I'll get more treats from the sky!
Bounce, bounce, bounce!
My family takes me to the strangest of places. I do love going places cause there are some amazing things out there. I went to a place that was like a really big park and there were these big jumping things. They had big feet and big tails and I wanted to say hello to them... like, right up in their funny faces.
On my first night we stayed in a fancy room and I pulled the stuffing out of my monkey toy - it had lived long enough.... The next morning it was dark and I wanted a walk so we went walking (I was nervous when we got there earlier so I held all my no. 1's and 2's inside.. waiting... waiting.. for 4am). I heard something through the dark and I just had to go and check it out... and quickly. I ran and ran and ran through the trees and bush, over logs and through fences and I just kept going because whatever it was just kept jumping faster... I think my mum and dad missed me when I went on my adventure because they were so happy to see me when I came back, the sun was slowly waking up and they could see me so they helped me get through some fences and I got a yummy reward for coming back! Awesome! I lost my new friends, I wished they came back with me...
And then we all had to go back to bed and rest after my adventure. My dad came over to my bed and gave me a belly rub and then he made me go over to mum and show her how pretty I was! I've never seen my mum move so fast! She was just like a big jumping monster too! She got me into the shiny white bathroom and touched all over my body, I guess my mum was panicking as I'm so pretty in the head and there was blood all over my neck and running down my body - and then she did it... she turned on that awful shower thing and got me all wet! I wasn't even dirty! I had a funny feeling in my ear so I kept shaking my head (splatter, splatter, splatter). All of the sudden the shower stopped and I got dried off with these big fluffy white towels which ended up as soaking pink puddles on the bathroom floor. Mum said I was silly because I'd made the pretty white bathroom look like a murder scene, I don't know what she was talking about, I just had this oozing funny itch in my ear so I kept shaking my head (splatter, splatter, splatter... Some of those fences I jumped through had funny spikes on them and one of them bit me on my ear, my leg and my bum!).
After our nap we got to go on another drive in the car and went and stayed in a little wooden house in the middle of a bouncing monster park! Oh My Dog! They came to my new park to see me! I wanted to say hi again but I wasn't allowed too. I went on a big walk where there were lots of rows of sweet fruit, mum said I couldn't have any because they were toxic. What's a toxic? Then we all went inside and I got to lie on the cool stone floor under the table and eat any dropped cheese and crackers! yum.
Hopefully one day I'll get to see the jumping monsters again - they were fun and liked to bounce race!
Mum took me to the pub... to see dogs? I promise that I was fully supervised and under parental guidance at all times!
There were many dogs there, some big and some small, and a big swimming pool to cool my belly! There was a mini obstacle course and I got to run up and down the ladder, through the tunnel and across the plank... When we were practicing I fell off the plank because I forgot about where my bum was and it fell off the end! whoops!
My Mum likes Maggie's Rescue and they had a kissing both there too. The French Bulldog was kinda cute - I would have gone in for a kiss!
Mum gave me a treat to chew on so I didn't get bored and I thought... well I need a mat to lie on to chew this so I found one!
The perfect spot was on the presentation stage under the table where all of the awards sat. I liked it there.
After a busy morning of pool swimming, treat chewing, tunnel running and park walking I got to go home and dream about swimming with fish.. and cats. I do like fish and I do like cats!
It was hot and windy today and the sky turned grey and red and black and weird.
My humans said that Sydney was on fire... I've seen a fire. We went camping and I chased and danced with the moths. I was very happy that everyone had collected a big pile of sticks for me during the day but as it got to dinner time the sticks caught on fire and make me warm and sleepy.... Camping was fun!
After my walk this afternoon I sat on Uncle Phil's balcony and watched the funny sky and thought that there was a strange feeling in the air... It tasted a little like ash. I pondered over my furry kingdom and hoped all my animal buddies were o.k. Even the ones with sore legs...
I hurt my leg... I'm not allowed to run... this this not fun for me or anyone around me.
I went for a walk this morning and saw Tilly and Ned. I wanted to play but my mum wouldn't let me off my lead... so I said.... Barrrwwwoooowooowwooowwoooof.. roufff... grumble grumble... Ned gave me a kiss! Tilly told Ned off as Ned is not allowed to be shared by other hounds cause Tilly LOVES Ned and they wrestle forever until they are all slobbery and wet...
We walked home and I saw a cat! I didn't recognise it at first as it wasn't running.. why doesn't it run? I thought it must have hurt it's leg too...
My mum wanted to do some cat training with me but thought it was not fair on the kitty cat that was lying there in case people thought we hurt the cat. Hurt cats? I LOVE cats!.
Mum said it was 'gone' but it was clearly there in front of me...lying still on the grass verge by the busy roadside.
I sniffed it's cute little kitty nose and wanted to touch it's big fluffy furry belly but Mum said I had to leave the kitty alone and she sounded sad and gave me extra pats.
I didn't really understand and I just wanted to stay a little bit longer to see if it would run away and then I could get excited... but mum made me leave and we went home - the cat didn't move, I kept checking back to see if it would come our way...
I hope the cat's leg gets better and then we can both go running again!
I finally got to meet my Dogmother! she was lovely and smelt like flowers.
She scratched my bum and my head and under my chin and on my belly.
She came to play cricket with me in the park and also for a swim at the beach, she took me to 'SuperDog' (that story to come) and I took her to see the giant snails, I told her there were special dog secrets that we can roll in underneath the giant snails - I showed Dogmother my amazing rolling around skills underneath the snails but she didn't get it.
My Dogmother made my garden at home look pretty and she went on lots of walks with me. I showed her football park, enmore park, Sydney park and playground park... she met some of my friends and she was naughty and let Henry and Cooper have chocolate brownie crumbs.
I like having Nana come to stay because in the mornings I got a special treat and got to have my belly rubbed... on Nana's bed! Shhhh.... it's a secret... I'm not allowed on the bed because I love dirt and sometimes spew up fish.
I love sleeping on the bed - it's squishy, the perfect size to stretch out whilst snoozing and it smells of my family.
I went to Sam's birthday. I got to have a sleep over!
Sam had cake...
Oh yes... I do like cake!
Sam is a lollyface. He is small and once he let me have his marmite and cheese sandwich... I do like it when Sam shares... Sometimes he doesn't even notice that he shared his lunch with me and that's o.k. (That's my little secret)
Sam is small and needed to cut his birthday cake on the floor... I had never seen anything so beautiful on a kitchen floor before! It was all shiny and cake-like and smelt like chocolate that my humans never let me eat... it just makes me want it even more!
I'm not sure why they set it on fire in the beginning though...
And then... it was all gone! I helped clean up - I'm good at cleaning up (unless it's dog hair - I'm not so good at that one...)
What are you doing down here?
This is where I hang out?
Are you O.K.?
I saw a small bird, it saw me! We touched noses. The bird smelt birdy like. I think it was lost because it was on my level of the word and wasn't up in the trees...
I stopped to ask it if it was o.k. and it said not really but to move along as there was nothing to see here and it was waiting for it's mum. (looked like it was waiting for the bus - the one that never comes, my mum calls that the 370, or the 422, and even sometimes the 352... there must be lots of buses that don't come?)
I said 'have a good day' and went on my merry way to look for cats, or someone to play 'chase me'. Today I'll take either...
The strangest things appeared in my local park.... these humungous snails? They aren't like the ones I've chewed up before in the backyard - they don't smell the same or move much, I'd have trouble getting them in my mouth all at once but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
My mum saw this picture of me and asked if I was trying to be a hipster and get in on the art scene??? What's a hipster?? What's an Art??
I just ignored her rambling... she wouldn't understand my mutating, trans-Atlantic melting pot of style, taste and behaviour, it's far too underground for her to even comprehend...
Where's my football...? I love cats.
I was very very surprised! This doesn't happen every day!
I went for a big walk to the park, I do this a lot - I do love the park.
Today there was something new... today there was a big pile of dirt - dog oh dog - do I LOVE dirt!!!!
A dirt pile just for me!?!
I got to run up the pile of dirt and down the pile of dirt and around the pile of dirt and I even tried my very hardest to go through the pile of dirt!!!!
My dad said I that I must be crazy because for a dog who hates with all their fur and paws to having a wash of any sorts... I do like to get dirty a lot!
My mum sometimes says that I have to be a good girl forever and ever because sometimes councils (which are those humans in bright vests - I love bright vests!) don't like me much because we can upset the cat ladies and the lollyfaces... I say that they must LOVE me because they got me a whole big ol' pile of dirt! I love the bright coloured council people! I do have dirt up my nose though.... I love dirt...
