All I wanted was my head rubbed around my eyes and my belly tickled this morning... I would have been happy with (that for a while) but Mum insisted we go to Enmore Park for a walk and take advantage of the new temporary off leash trial period the council is doing... so off we trot and we get to go a way where one day 6 months ago I saw a cat under a car... it wasn't there today... I checked...
The park was fun I sniffed a lost hat and watched a lady dancing at the plants and some running people with big squishy round hands punch each other... weirdo's... but I do like running...
After I'd quickly eaten some of the pigeon's bread (they like to share, they move over and say I can have it all if I want it!), chased a squishy red ball (mum loves chucking that thing), it was time to head home and mum said because I had been good we could walk down one of the side streets and do some 'cat training'. Mum is funny and slightly deluded... I'm like 'sure! I love cats, cats, cats, cats, cats, cats, cats, cats, cats... wait-a-minute...'
... and there it was... sitting all smug like right there in front of me on the cat street... I locked in and glared for what seemed like eternity... Mum tried to check out what was going on but she couldn't see it as clearly as I could... It was glaring back and it didn't look happy... I don't growled much... I lowered my voice and put on my scary 'I'm so tough I smoke 50 a day!' growl... My hackles were up like a hedgehog and I was ready... It stood it's ground... was I not scary enough??? I barked and pounced forward to show it I meant business... then quickly retreated in case it pursued after me... Mum was talking to me (and laughing? what the?) but I couldn't really hear her... after a while Mum decided it was best if we surrendered and walked another way.. I totally agreed.... Seriously... If I ever see that thrown away suitcase filled with coat hangers on the grass verge again it'll wish it never met me!
I love my new small car! It came to the park and it went zoom zoom zoom! Holy catballs that thing can go quick! All my mates joined in and we chased it good! I can't wait for it to come out to play again! I'm gonna get it one day... you just watch me...
Juno pup told me that it feel funny when it runs over your paw... mental note... watch me toes!
OMD!!!!! I can't believe it! Firstly I get to run in the park, then I get to roll in Poo... then I am forced to be tortured into a bubbly foaming stink mess and hosed off (brrrrr.. it's chilly... and Dad seems grumpy), then I get to go in the car to my Aunty Juliet's place and this is where 'Stanley the cat' lives... I've never seen Stanley. I think he smells good. There is a fire outside and sweet sticky white and pink sugary goodness on sticks! SUGAR ON STICKS!!!!! OMD!OMD!OMD!!!! **I like sugar and I like sticks!
There is a lolly-face there and he tips whatever he has in his cup on me... I now smell like raspberry and apple... and foamy mess coconuts and flowers... and open fire... Poo is still my preference in odour right now...
Then when we are relaxing inside there is this almighty 'bang' and Heeelllloooooooo Stanley! He is fast and shiny and long and I want him, want him, want him, want him... next thing I know I'm in the bathroom. Stanley is dancing around the bathtub - I'm not a fan of bathtubs and Uncle Phil and Mum have me captured... then Stanley disappears in a flash over Mum's shoulder! I only wanted to say hello right up in his face and see if he wanted to be friends... I'm thinking he probably doesn't.
I finally get home after all of that excitement and I'm totally exhausted from life.....OMD! OMD! OMD! OMD! OMD! OMD! OMD! OMD! OMD! OMD! OMD!
Dad bought me a small car!
THANKS DAD! You're the best chuck out the rest!
**NB: Paws And Think Dog Training does not advocate the feeding of sugar to dogs (it can cause diabetes!) nor does it recommend that dogs chew sticks (they can get stuck on the inside and be VERY bad and even fatal for hounds). Dogs tend to like both so please be mindful when toasting marshmallows over the fire...
So... there was a guy at the park today... he had a little car and it went zoom zoom zoom... I couldn't believe he brought this to the park just for me! I ran and I ran and I ran and I ran and I ran and I ran and then I was so in love with 'my' new toy (that actually belonged to 2 giant German Shepherds) that I just followed the man with the little car because he must like me a lot...
it wasn't until Zephyrs mum grabbed me that I realised I was being a goon and my mum, even though she doesn't have a small car, would be upset if I went home with someone else... I'm asking Dad for a small car.
On my way home I popped a football (2nd one for the day, because I am awesome!), ran some more in the afternoon sun and found a puppy and then I went home dreamed about sleeping on the big bed but was too tired to do anything except fall over and snooze
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILMA!
I got to go to Wilma's birthday party in the park.
It was fun and Wilma and Dexter and Juno & Loki and Winston and Zac and Onyx and Skolorn and Hugo and Diesel and Loki & Freya and Frenchie and Puc and I were there and we ran about and some of us chased balls and Frisbees.
Wilma's family bought everyone 'puppy pie' to share and it was yum!
Someone dropped some human food.., it was chocolate and coconut covered squishy
goodness of something and before it had hit the ground I inhaled it before anyone saw... I'm good at cleaning up after a party!
My people are always telling me to look where I'm going... I am usually o.k. I have much better peripheral vision than they do, I'm sure they forget that. I did have to have a 'look where YOU are going' moment this morning... Trotting away on our way home from a rumble in the park with Ned and Tilly the Aussie Cattledogs (Ned has a new red ball... I think I want one...), my mum... at full walking speed... whilst looking sideways... smacked right into a pole! it was hilarious! She bounced off and got a massive bump on her head... the birds perched up top got to fly away... and then around the corner we saw a man across the road with a cat on his shoulder... a real cat... sitting on a mans real shoulder! It looked like they were going into the big building that smells like sugar and butchers and fish and apples and cheesy bread.... Fancy that... a shopping cat!? Wish I had a cat on my shoulder... I like cats...
Word on the street was that I smelt like 'Eau De Parfum Sydney Park'... I thought I smelt pretty... seems my Family felt otherwise... so after a run around in the thunderstorm yesterday and a splash in the mud I got the awful, terrifying shampoo and hose treatment... I now stink like flowers and coconuts??? WTF??? Hmmm... I do seem to get more cuddles... I wish I had thumbs, then I could create a foamy mess that smells like dead pigeon. I would call it 'Le Pawfume pidgy-on'....
I wonder what I'd be doing right now if my new people didn't come and get me from what seemed like just another hotel... lots of dogs and none I could play with.... But I knew they were there because I could hear them... come would cough... some would bark and some would cry... I just collected lots of stuff and hoarded it all in the room I had with my brother... sometimes I collected so much stuff my brother Spud had to sleep on top of the washing machine because I had taken up all the floor space... I use to like collecting stuff!... Hmmmm.... Maybe I'll ponder about my old life another day... I hope Spud got to go to a nice place (I cried when he left me)... I think he got to go somewhere with a family and some 'lolly-faces' (aka small people that normally taste like lollies), I hope he is as happy as me!
I got some left over beans and poached eggs in my kongs this morning! Yay for weekend breakfasts!... I made a great slobbery mess on my kitchen mat... today is going to be a day of rest as I am exhausted. Yesterday I broke my football - the squishy rubber inside popped out of it's cover - it was so much fun! Tasted good too.
